About the Journal
FOCUS AND SCOPE
Beut: Jurnal Studi Islam, publishes interdisciplinary research on Islamic thought and practice within coastal and inland Muslim communities. These regions offer distinctive socio cultural and ecological contexts that shape the lived realities and intellectual expressions of Islam.
The journal welcomes contributions across key thematic areas, each with a clearly defined methodological orientation. Qur’anic studies, Hadith studies, Islamic history, and Islamic thought are expected to adopt theoretical or literature-based approaches, focusing on textual analysis, conceptual reflection, and classical scholarship. In contrast, Islamic education, Islamic law, Islamic economics, and Islamic culture are encouraged to be explored through empirical fieldwork, case studies, or community-based inquiry. Submissions that integrate both theoretical and practical dimensions are also welcome, provided the methodological coherence is clearly articulated.
By aligning disciplinary focus with appropriate research methods, Beut: Jurnal Studi Islam aims to advance original scholarship that reflects Islam as both a normative tradition and a dynamic social reality in geographically grounded settings.
